Mara Rogers is an award-winning, widely published freelance food, travel and lifestyle writer in digital and print, as well as professionally media-trained and on-air media talent for television, radio, and satellite media tours.

Mara has many notable accomplishments in her multifaceted career, among them are: co-host of the national cooking series “Cook-Off America” on Public Television which was one of the top three cooking shows in the nation. She was also co-host of the radio show “The Midday Dish with Mara Reid Rogers” on WJON-AM where she reported on travel, spas and food and lifestyle, and the host and executive producer of the lifestyle radio show “Gracious Living Today” on WQXI-AM where just after the show’s first 32 days Mara was one of three finalists in the “Best New Talent” category in the A.I.R.—Achievement In Radio—Awards.

Mara Reid Rogers is the author of nine Cookbooks. “The South the Beautiful Cookbook” which she co-authored, was lauded “One Of The Year’s Top Ten Cookbooks†according to Nation’s Restaurant News, and several of her other cookbooks were main selections of national book clubs such as “The Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook Club.”

One of her front-page centerpiece freelance feature articles Mara Rogers wrote for the Food Section of the largest newspaper in the Southeast “The Atlanta Journal Constitution” won National Awards from the Association of Food Journalists.  Her first personal culinary website won a USA Today Award for “Hot New Site.”

Mara has been featured and profiled in major media outlets in print, web, television and radio including, but not limited to: The New York Times, The New York Daily News, The Wall Street Journal, The San Francisco Chronicle, New Jersey Monthly magazine, NBC’s The Weekend Today Show, CNN, and QVC.

She was the Food and Home Entertaining Editor of Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles Magazine and the Assistant Food and Home Entertaining Editor for the national House Beautiful Magazine.  

Mara has written Guest Posts for some of the Top 50 Blogs of the world including Zen Habits, Problogger, and Copyblogger.

She has worked as a freelance writer and interviewed high-profile individuals for the ongoing WonderWomen column for Bay Area Business Woman News and also contributed freelance articles for San Francisco Magazine and the national Cooking Pleasures magazine. She was also the Creative Publicist for the Food and Lifestyle Division of Pringle, Dixon, Pringle in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mara has a Professional Culinary and Baking Degree from The Institute of Culinary Education (formerly titled Peter Kump’s New York Cooking School) and she also has a degree in commercial photography and communication design from Parson’s School of Design in New York City, and studied writing and film at Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts.  She is a professional member of The International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP).
